Emulation - 2026

Two orphaned boys. One shared dream. A rivalry built on determination, ambition and the desire to become something extraordinary.

Emulation was brought to life in October 2026, inspired by the anime Black Clover.

It all began when Brittanie's husband, Doug, decided to put on an episode of Black Clover. And just as quickly as he pressed play, she was hooked!

What captivated Brittanie wasn't simply the magic, action or colourful characters. It was the deeper meaning woven throughout the story.

At its heart, Black Clover follows two orphaned boys, Asta and Yuno, who share one extraordinary goal: to become the Wizard King. Despite their vastly different abilities, personalities and approaches, their rivalry is built on something Brittanie deeply admires: healthy competition.

Rather than allowing their differences to divide them, the boys continuously challenge, inspire and push one another towards greatness.

Brittanie found herself completely absorbed in the depth of the anime, particularly the individual character arcs, personal struggles and the powerful messages surrounding perseverance, friendship and self-belief.

And naturally, she couldn't resist bringing that inspiration to canvas!

While painting Emulation, Brittanie hadn't even finished watching the entire anime series. But much like Asta and Yuno, she had set herself a goal and was determined to see it through.

Through contrasting greens and fiery reds, expressive characters and a world bursting with magical energy, Emulation captures the spirit of rivalry, ambition and the determination to stand out.

More than simply a tribute to an anime she loves, Emulation represents Brittanie's own creative philosophy: embracing individuality, pursuing your passions and refusing to let limitations define what you're capable of achieving.

After all, you don't need to possess the same magic as someone else to create something extraordinary.
