I painted it in 2021, during a period of growth in my own life, and let it evolve slowly, layer by layer: thinned washes of blue, cling wrap pressed into the paint for organic texture, dabs of paper towel to gently reveal the whale shark, and delicate gold and silver leaf catching the light.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eTo me, Pisces is about grief and the healing journey. Grief is a lot like the ocean. It comes in waves, some gentle and some that knock you off your feet, and healing runs as deep as those waters. We don't leave our grief behind; over time we learn to walk alongside it. The whale shark is the gentle giant of our WA waters. It moves slowly and calmly through the deep, carrying its markings with it wherever it goes, much like we carry the people we have lost.
